The security settings could not be applied

之前系统为2003系统安装的mysql版本是5.0.22

系统升级为window 7后，我重新安装mysql 5.5，结果总是提示如下错误

The security settings could not be applied.
Error Number 1045.
Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost'(using password:YES)

导致这个错误的原因是，我一直使用原来旧密码登录，mysql 5.5安装完成后root的密码为空。

唉~~
